What about the M-1 since it was a dual purpose engine? 3 chime or Banshee?
The ones I heard had the standard PRR 3-chime. Plus, the recordings I've heard of M1 locomotives also sounded like the the standard PRR 3-chime, i.e. no "Banshee".
There are quite a few recordings of M1's around - the tracks I've heard were of 3 chime whistles. In the last years of steam 3 chime whistles found there way onto some freight locomotives - probably off scrapped K4's as that fleet dropped in number rapidly with the early dieselization of long distance passenger trains.
