Re: Williams by Bachmann 44 Tonner

I just saw an ad for the WBB 44T switcher which showed it lettered for D&RGW, which multiplied its interest to me, and

the ad also states 44 tonners were first produced in 1940. I had thought I had read they were not first mfgd. until 1941-42, which would push them out of my era. What is correct?
