Wiring Track Hookups (FasTrack) | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hello all. I am new here and I am new to the concept of serious model railroading. Because I now am embarking on a project that will leave me with a larger layout I will need to know how to wire power hookups to my track. I am using Lionel's FasTrack. I am totally lost as to how to wire anything so if someone could help me out by explaining all of this in laymens terms that would be great. Here are pictures of what I have to help. Spool of Red/Black wiring

A generic brand transformer and Lionel transformer each connected to terminal track pieces with red/black wiring.

Also not pictured I have an MTH board. It's the green one with all the electrical hookup spots. How should I make use of that?
