WTB looking for a roof for a Lionel Tinplate home

If you are looking to use them yourself, I could probably cook up a paper substitute. I would just need clearer pictures of the existing roof, taken perpendicular to the surface on each side, as we'll as head on.

Well, I guess card stock, but it ought to be good with the light. Just don't leave it on 24/7

If you are concerned about the material, though, it could be printed on clear, thin plastic, like that used for window material by HO modelers.

On a outside chance, call Midge at MTH, they could have an extra.

I have made two roofs out of heavy tin to replace missing ones on accessories. You could make the dormer out of wood to match.

If you can't find an original, you could get creative and buy a small sheet of sheet metal from HD (#801447 12"x18" 22ga. sheet) $7.98, and bend one to fit the roof contour.  If you could do that, and wanted the dormer and chimney, they could be made out of card stock.  The sheet metal would give you the safety with the light not burning up a paper/card stock replica.  Paint it a color close to an original color, or try to find the roof pattern, copy the image to a computer, and print out a sheet to glue onto the sheet metal. 

Sometimes you have to get very creative with a solution, and how desperate you are.
