1946 671 wheels. Help needed

It happens to all of us, I had to put my trains away for about a year to handle real life. I had several projects in the works before the pause. One being my 671.  It literally has flat tires. I am debating the best course of action.

it appears to have been dropped, damaging the nickel tires. Because I am a glutton for punishment I am thinking of putting the wheels in the lathe, turning the worst wheel to round and then turning the rest to match. Finally turning new nickel tires. Has anyone ever tried this and if so what was the outcome?

I have also considered just replacing them.

I am also looking to replace my wheel puller. When I put my trains away I put the puller someplace safe. For the life of me I can’t remember where that was. Thanks for any help
