I have a problem I have not seen before and am looking for some guidance. Here is the background.
In January I replace my TIU and handheld unit. TIU and handheld are new, Rev. L on the TIU.
I ran the trains for a couple days in January. The next time I ran the trains was in March, all without issue.
Over the July 4th weekend I returned home and had two brand new engines to add to the handheld.
The first unit loaded was a Premier Western Maryland 2-8-0 steamer. It loaded into the hand held properly and functioned normally.
An hour or so after loading the first unit, I added in a Premier Pennsylvania BB1 electric pair.
The BB1 loaded in to the handheld normally.
This is where the issue comes in..... When I start up either engine, they both start up together and when I advance the thumb wheel, both engines start to roll. The handheld is seeing the two units as one.
To try to correct, I have deleted and reentered both engines in the handheld, but the problem still continues.
All other engines on the layout work normally and I can detect no other anomaly's in operation.
There are two other questions I have... on the BB1 the trailing unit, when direction is changed the cab light turns on, but the head light does not. Lights work normally on the lead unit. Can this trailing unit bulb be replaced?
On the Western Maryland steamer, the headlight is so bright it bothers my eyes to look directly at it. Can this lamp be replaced with a more conventional bulb and less intense glare.
Any guidance the forum can provide relative to these issues will be appreciated.
