Reply to "Strasburg meet - Who went?"

This is as much of a social meet as it is a sales show.  Most of the vendors are hobbyists, not dealers, who are there to enjoy themselves by keeping old friendships current while themselves searching for that elusive item for their own railroad.  It may be a bit unrealistic to assume this show format is populated by high-pressure used-car salesmen types.  I've run into the situation described by Mr. Lasley, but I can track the owner down or notify the person at an adjacent table that I'm buying the desired item, either paying them to give the money to the owner or securing the item with a SOLD note on it with your name and cell phone number.  Helpful to bring a pad and pen for that too.  Probably some can think of other solutions; but the point is to enjoy the show.  I'm as happy as a clam at these shows!  Thanks, Messrs. Dunn and Yoder.
