3RD RAIL FP7 Black Widows

Well since we can no longer reply to topics after 120 days, I guess we just have to duplicate them now.

In the previous thread I showed swapping the FP7's from the claw to Kadees, and pulling them closer together. I finally got some pictures of the 2 rail pilots that I swapped out to get rid of the huge hole in the front.

Here's the claw with the 3 rail pilot.

Kadee and the 2 rail pilot. I also added the air hose.

On the lead unit, I pushed the Kadee back further for a better look since it's the one you see head on.

On the trailing unit, I left the Kadee out just a bit further to allow room for the trip pin on the 1st car so it don't hit the pilot and derail in the curves. (Scratch built caboose by Brother Love &nbsp

You can see the trailing unit's coupler sticks out further when it's not hooked to a train. When it pulls a train, you don't even notice that small difference.

The only thing I would still like to do is body mount the steps. I think they are in the works for the F7's... (I hope so) I also hope the drive train on the F7's are the same as these FP7's because they are unbelievably smooth and quiet. They don't fight each other, even with the B unit being non powered.
