5V PS32 is bigger than the 5V board - mounting problem

After finally getting a 5V PS32 board to replace my dead 5V board on my Railking steam loco, I tried positioning the new board and discovered that it is a trifle wider, and the loco shell won't fit over the board anymore. Has anyone tried mounting the 5V PS32 on its side so it can fit into the shell? Has anyone shaved the plastic frame so the new 5V PS32 board fits into the shell? Will I be forced to remount the new board in the tender? I can see redoing the wiring to move the board from the engine to the tender being a messy challenge.

Anyone else deal with this situation?
