The main differences, that I know of, is the PS3 version doesn't have a battery. The PS3 version has the draw-bar tether where the PS2 has the plug-in cord and maybe a few detail differences. I think the PS3 version has LED lighting where the PS2 has incandescent lighting. Overall, not a bad deal. $200 is probably the max I would spend on that engine, but that's me. It does look good though.

Thank you very much.  I hope the steam whistle sounds like the 765. Saw that last June on a Chicago to Janesville excursion run when it stopped in Fox Lake.  I have been in love with that engine ever since. Seeing one full size running is nothing short of amazing.
