For today: "Crew of C&O 0-8-0 and caboose get ready for departure." This is aK line smoking caboose. Luckily when I realized the roof, around the smoke jack, was at the very cusp of beginning to melt, I picked the car off the track and let it cool. Then I switched the smoke off. Whew!! Never switched the smoke on again! nod All my K line cabooses with smoke have this same issue with smoke units/melting roof. nod
