My Williams scale Hudson easily out pulls the MTH scale Hudson. The difference seems to be traction tires on both the front and rear drivers. Why can’t other manufacturers add more traction tires to increase pulling power? Sure, the MTH Hudson looks nicer side by side but that advantage diminishes once the trains are operating with the swiftness of the real Hudsons and the MTH locomotive starts struggling with 6 or 7 heavyweights. The same load does not even slow the Williams Hudson.

Traction tires! Not a selling point here. Bleh! But, to each his own.
