Sad... absolutely.

Inspiring? Not to me. Instead, I found it depressing: Broken dreams. Vandalism. Drug addiction. Historic equipment going to waste... and more.

No, none of that is very inspiring to me.

But I will certainly agree with you on the "sad" part.
