Do not be over concerned with heat from the motor. They run hot. If we are lucky these small motors are about 85% efficient. The 15% that does not come out as power comes out as heat. The harder the motor works, the more heat it generates. A properly designed locomotive will slip its wheels before the motor heat is excessive.
