AF Passenger car green paint and window adhesive.

I thought repairing some cracked/scared windows in a Niagara Falls combine would be easy. Were the window strips in these cars originally glued? These were, and are very hard to scrap away. I have the replacement strips and would like to know some options for installing them. I don't want to use super glue type adhesive due to the fogging. Would rubber cement or something that doesn't dry hard work?

I'd like to touch up the scuffs on the roofs of my mixed green passenger set (2 Pullmans, 2 New Haven type). The only thing I have found so far is a spray can that ends up costing $28.50 considering shipping. Are there any other options for the proper shade of green paint. I know that fading has to be considered when matching also.
