Lionel has hinted a couple of times during the catalog shows that a newly tooled Amtrak locomotive is on the way and in the design phase. Considering the number of road names the ALC-42 can be made in (because of the many commuter railroads and Amtrak paint schemes), it seems likely, at least to me, that Lionel is working on it right now.
