Hmm, I find the musty smell nostalgic, it reminds of the old basement when I was a kid and it was a real cellar with a coal furnace too.
As for that bothering me, yes in a way it does. But primarily it is a clue to move on immediately. I have a few queues which tell me to ignore a seller and that one is right up near the top of the list. Another one for me is the one that labels the listing "Rare". I figure I know if it is rare or not, you don't need to tell me. They are the sellers loss.
