Reply to "Am I the only one bothered by this ?"

This drives me crazy, too, in part because it is so darn illogical. Surely, the seller must realize that a train that has not been drug across the concrete will sell before one that has....?

A buddy of mine collected baseball cards. He knew the grading system for those, and what he had. I bought an old Lionel off of him. It was in C-7 condition. It would have been in C-8, except he had thrown all the O-27 track into the box right on top of the engine!

I get that, if it's not your thing, you won't be as excited about its condition. If I had baseball cards, I wouldn't stick them in the spokes of my bike, but I wouldn't be as careful with them as I am with the trains, probably. But if you are a seller, even if you have no personal interest in the thing, isn't it in your best financial interest to be as fastidious with it as the collector you hope to sell it to?

Drives me nuts!

(Better now, thanks )
