American Flyer Circus Train

Sold my Dad's house and this was in the attic. American Flyer Circus Train.

It is very old looking. I looked up something similar and the animal cages looked different.

It had a locomotive on wheels to pull the cages.

Again, the cages and the engine on wheels look ancient.

They look like they were made with the rest of the set.

Any ideas?
