The link I posted said that the rail can be 20 -30 degrees hotter than ambient temperature or even more, so if outside temp was 84 could be 104 for example. Doesn't change what Hot Water said though, in this case one of the suspected items is the rail buckling or kinking, not softening, I don't know where anyone got that idea from.
