The standard O cars were freight cars, advertised on the same page as the loco in the catalog. The next page of the catalog showed the NYC f3 set and passenger cars, so I think it's safe to assume that Lionel was suggesting that those passenger cars might also look good with the 783 on the previous page. I think that was the 1983 or 1984 catalog.
