Welcome to North Carolina, we moved here from Pennsylvania about 5 years ago and love it here. I went on the same search when we arrived. Fortunately I had success. The Southeastern Narrow Gauge and Short line Museum is located in Newton, NC about 90 minutes west of Greensboro. The museum itself has a splendid collection of full size trains with a restored depot. The building next to the depot is the model railroad center where we have layouts of all scales. A large O scale layout, in the process of building a large HO layout as well as N scale. The depot is also home to the Yadkin & Catawba Model RR Club, we have a modular traveling layout the we take to trains shows and other community functions. We have several members from the Statesville/ Winston-Salem area. Any questions please ask, we would love to show you our facility.
