Any (Train) Civilization Near Phoenicia, NY?

My son & daughter-in-law just bought a house in the Catskills. The property is right on the edge of a designated wilderness area. The nearest 'towns' are Phoenicia and Lanesville. Are there any train stores in that area to visit? I imagine I'll be up there for a month at a time, so I'll have plenty of time with not a whole lot to do.
