Anybody give up on DCS

Anybody here give up on DCS. I've spent the last hour or so with no new engines to add or TIU not found check network.  This is pretty much a regular occurance if I either power down or close the App once everything is working. Since it's in the basement I'm not big on leaving it powered all the time. And yeah I've read what applies more than once in the DCS Complete Guide. If it matters the track is wired with 12 and drops are every 8 feet. All software is up to date Rev. L TIU. Track is relatively clean. Right now there aree 9 engines on the track. the 2 lashups show as inactive. The two i wanted to run ( e6 and Northern) showed inactive. I deleted them to get them off the inactive list and now I when I tried to add them I get either no new engines to add or no TIU. And yes I've tried 2 tablets and the handheld. The handheld gives me engine not on track. 1 PS2 rest are PS3 and yes I checked the drawbar on the Northern. TIU channels are all fixed. Power to track 1 is off Z4000 track 2 Z4000 track 3 180 brick track 4 180 brick All engines come up dark and sound stays after shutdown. Track signal 10 and all the voltage is 18 or more on the track. The one PS2 does sometimes miss the watchdog and has a BCR in it however that shouldnt factor in since there was no power to tracks 1 and 2. Tracks 1 and 2 have lashups and FWIW I was told the latest software would allow the lashups to stay together but I have to rebuild them after every power down.

I tried to answer anything in advance here that someone might ask so we didn't have to do the back and forth thing.

I tore down my kids O layout with intent to go HO. Plan was to buy MTH again and take advantage of the existing DCS instead of DC/DCC but now I'm not so sure. We're still moving along with the HO just maybe not DCS.

If you see anything that I missed let me know.

Thanks
