Reply to "Anyone have the Q-type subway set from MTH?"

Hello Bobby (OGAGE)

I would expect you live in NY, live in Queens or Long Island and lived along the IRT Flushing Line EL long ago.  Based upon your layout photos !  Your layout looks very neat, clean and organized -- I doubt you (neither was I, heh)  were around for the 1939-40NY Worlds Fair -- but we both were around for the 1964-65 NY Worlds Fair at the same location !  And remember the Museum trains running to it (the 6 car by that time BMT "low roof" Q type EL cars repainted into the 1939 WF Scheme -- and the IRT Low-V's)

My home line was the Manhattan 3rd Ave EL -- Upper East Side -  but I had a lot of neighborhood personal contacts along and exposure to the Flushing Line in the 1950's-70's.

Would have loved to have been there with a camera and color film back in 1940 --but was there with cameras a lot in the 1964-65 period of that Fair.  Anyway, I tried to recreate somewhat the look and feel of the line and 1939-40 NY Worlds Fair time with the rolling stock as it was then , on my own O Scale NYC EL Layout.

Here BELOW are some photos on my EL layout of my version of replicating the 1939-40 NY Worlds Fair Service and some of the trains that served it back then: -------------------------  (Regards - Joe F)
