Anyone having issues with the MTH RK CP Holiday Engine???

Mine ran great out of the box, just opened 2 weeks ago, but last night went to run it around the tree and no sound. Lights worked, smoke worked, sounds MIA.

I stopped at the local train show this AM and someone else with the engine reported he lost all sound as well and has a few other issues. I run MTH conventional so if there are other issues I'm not sure.
