It's not tinplate but it is somewhat obscure - a 2 rail 4-4-0 made by the Great Western Model Locomotive Company. They issued a small catalog of engines and cars in 1948 and had vanished from the model railroad scene by 1950.

Nice Great Western Robert .... with tender drive pre 1950 ....in 1950 they went to mounting motor within the engine ..they did not last too much longer ... very nice piece
