Although I like the DCS remote, the idea of a hand held remote hay day is passing. The king of remotes, the TV remote is on the way out. We talk to the TV through the remote now. Some interfaces like Google Home have no remote, just talk to it. Pretty soon we will be saying "All Aboard" and the whole layout will fire up.
