April OGR Collectors Corner photo question

Did advanced search and did not see this topic.

Got the April issue and read Collector's Corner about the Hudson. Curious why the model in photo1, 7, 9 was taken with the steam slide valve rod at odd angle and a crosshead guide bar completely out of the crosshead slot (excuse me if not using correct terminology). Was this the way it came from the factory (hope chinese manufacturing hasn't deteriorated that far), or did fingers dislodge these parts picking up loco?
