The blue bearing caps are an ASF Brenco bearing thing, rather than a Trinity thing. It started when they went to the Class K bearings. From what I've read, it's sort of a "marketing" thing. Although it's hard for me to imagine that the prevalence of ASF trucks on many or even most recently built freight cars would be news to the railroads.
