ATSF 3462

I know this topic is supposed to be closed, but I wanted to comment on some remarks that the Santa Fe 3460 Class Hudsons weren't good engines. In his book Railroads at War, S.Kip Farrington  claimed to have ridden in the cab of these engines at 100 mph for miles while hauling sixteen loaded car mail trains ( Chapter 16 - The Railroads Carry the Mail ) He also claimed to have ridden faster on the Santa Fe than any other railroad, behind both steam and Diesel, and this is from a guy that had a previous cab ride on the Hiawatha.
