But you will need more room to run these as they require 18 inch radius curves vs the 15.5 radius (O-31) the MTH uses.....but it works out about the same as the track width difference makes it very close.
I was actually comparing them to the 2-rail 2-8-0 which has a 31"r min. But the concept is the same. Equal or better detail with less space requirements for a lot less $. They seem like a great value.
