Bad track wiring?

Hey guys! So I got my DCS Commander installed and it keeps losing signal to the engine... Running off a transformer is silky smooth but for some reason the darn Commander loses connection all over the place. My layout isn’t very big, about 8’x7’ and I have two power points. I bought the Commander used so maybe it’s just bad?
