Reply to "Bandit Meets"

One problem with the bandit meets was that they depended so much on the weather.

I found the indoor portion of these meets pretty tame with the same dealers in the same place every show - not many good deals. It was in the parking lots outdoors where the most interesting things appeared.

The old Billy Budd had a big tent, but, still, if the weather was really bad, not much was going on. Perhaps some people, myself included, could not justify the expense of committing in advance to an extra day's motel, etc. for a "maybe" meet.

I think this is also why they expanded to more than one day to increase the chances of at least some good weather for those who could manage more days at York.
