When I made my first trip into Sonora, Mexico about 30 miles south of Nogales at the AZ-Sonora border in 2003 there were pair of Pullman Standard heavyweight section sleepers on a siding. It was part of a small group trip to photograph architecture, so we couldn't stop. When I was able to go down in my own vehicle in 2007, they were gone. However, on that first trip I did get some time in the yard in the city of Caborca in Sonora and there were several PFE reefers in the mostly abandoned yard. Not nearly the same find, but better than nothing. As Mexico became the home for a lot of former US equipment, I always wanted to do a train hunt down there. However, times have changed and my Spanish is not what it once was sadly.
