Look at the battery you are replacing. 5V had an 8.4V battery that looked like the traditional 9V. 3V boards use a 2.4V battery which is 2 AA or AAA in a combination package. With the exception of some very early 3V that used 2 actual AA batteries. All rechargeable types. G
