cngw: I have 3 ps -1 engines. I replaced the 9V batteries with BCRs. They're made by J and W Electronics (717) 417-2820. You can get them direct from them. I got mine from Grzyboski Trains-I was ordering other stuff at the time. The BCRs are sized like a 9V and fits right into the holder. I luv em!! No more worries about battery failures! One slight drawback: At start-up, the engine must sit in the first (reset) position for 1 minute at greater than 10 volts. This insures the BCR gets charged!! Do NOT move engine for 1 minute.
