Beautiful 'Streets Fire Department Rescue Truck

This Signature Models' 1:50 model of a 1960 Mack Fire Department Rescue Truck might have been designed to be converted to streets.  The body did not have to be cut or trimmed in any way.  I lengthened the chassis of a K-line step van by about 18 mm, and with only a tiny bit of work, it not only slipped on well, but I found a way to mount it so that I could keep the original cab interior in the body.  This is really a beautifully-rendered model and it looks spectacular on the layout.  Despite the longer wheelbase it isn't too grumpy running through D-16 curves - the new body weights two ounces less than the original, so I added 32 pennies (3.0 ounces) in a roll mounted above the rear axle so it has really good traction now.

Its just a lovely model . . .

Opening doors, and an interior, and driver.  How cool is that?
