HEY MATT,
My table has three Slates. I believe that each one weighs 200 to 250 pounds; I can't remember.
Anyway, I now wish that I had selected a standard 8'x4' table instead of the Tournamant size; it would have given me more clearance for the layout.

Yikes. Sound like that could 3-4.5" of slate under the felt. When I was growing up, half the homes on the block had pool tables. They'd grab six to eight of the boys on the block to help move and level a table. Real fun because everyone was in love with slate. The lightest table was one neighbor's that was a 7-foot which took six of us to bring in and set up when he bought it. Needless to say, all of the kids could play pool. Since we had more spare time to practice, the dads didn't stand a chance. 
As for the trains, did you say the mountainous boulders were sprinkler valve covers? I was looking for some and couldn't seem to find any.
