Ed ... I am also working on a similar project .. I am using a Grove Cube from Amazon .. $15 ~ It is Bluetooth.. Range 32ft. about 1 1/8 " x 1" x1". Will need help from my high tech Son ... he says I can send it sound files from my PC or Phone. Sound is pretty good for a small speaker. You may want to check it out.
