Since then I discovered Lionel did an 18" set with blunt end observation in 2015. Dead heat on a merry go round. The Lionel 21" cars require a lot of work but I think are closest to prototype. I may still try and put together an 18" train with K-Line, MTH and Lionel 18" cars.

Pete 21/22-inch cars are beauties but from my perspective need O-120 curves or at least O-106. Just like the 18-inch cars look best on at least O89. Just my thoughts. But on a straight away nothing better.
