there are a set of those red Flyer cars at our local antique mall. Not one of the regular dealers that has trains. Someone had swapped the trucks for Lionel Postwar and missing a few small parts. Thought they would look good behind one of my Marx steamers until I saw he wanted $35-$40 each.
Thanks Dave, I've had a little AF weakness this month for some reason. Yeah (35-40), that's a little steep for cars that have been worked. You know there are prewar three rail tin AF passenger cars that come up on ebay fairly often . Look for numbers 490 whistling baggage, 492 operating mail car, 494 plain old baggage car, and 495 New Haven style coach. There are also a couple of 12 wheel tin cars, 496 and 497. Hard to find those last two for a decent price though... Any or all would look great behind a Marx steamer...or you could dig up one of these
You see a bunch of these on the bay, 561 is the most common.
