Scored this auction last night.

Need to give it a road name- probably Chesapeake and Ohio.

Well, since this is a model of the Baltimore & Ohio C-16 0-4-0 “Little Joe” or “Docksider,” I would suggest B&O. Someone renumbered that MTH model, and did an accurate job. The four C-16 Docksiders were numbered 96, 97, 98, and 99. For some reason, despite issuing three runs of the Docksider lettered for the B&O, MTH always used the same road number, 97, so it would be nice to see a no. 99 out there.

By the way, nos. 96 and 99 were eventually converted to coal-burning units with tenders and reclassified as C-16a. The saddle tank was removed, so the two locomotives looked distinctly different. I wish MTH had followed up by making this switcher using the existing mechanism.

Here’s an accurately painted N scale model by Rivarossi for the no. 99.

Thanks for the info on this Jim. exactly what I plan to do with it.

Nice Rivarossi engine. I have two in HO- a NYC Hudson and a PRR Y6b Mallet.

Bob

I think I know what I need to do.
