Kirk, check your operator's manual for location of a charging port.

 The 3V PS2 systems have small rectangular charging ports.  They are located on the underside of diesels and electrics (for the most part).  Located on underside of tenders on steam engines.  

The later 5V PS2 have round charging ports.  And if you have an engine that IS a PS2 but has no charging port (earlier one's) it is 5V.
