I have a number of Premier PS1 and I do enjoy them. The absence of cruise IMHO is their biggest downfall. Myself, I would not think it is prudent to upgrade to cruise because you'd have to gut the electronics and replace, probably about $300. Now you have a pricey converted PS1 which would take a hit on the re-sell market. Another annoyance (IMHO) is the way PS1s tend to rev up and down continually on a layout as they are very sensitive to track power. Well, at least this happens on my layout, and it is small!
