When you have enough seniority you get to pick jobs every 6 months It starts at the most senior person and works its way down to the lower seniority pond scum like me. It could be a god thing or a bad thing getting the same conductor for 6 months. I am part of wat they call extra list I get jobs based on vacancies for vacations, days off, sick time or open jobs. Its different every day
