Yes, you could. Anything is possible, but, may I offer an alternative solution. If you gently pull up on the light, it will come off. exposing the light bulb. If you look at the socket it came out of and the base of the part you pulled off, you will see a number of notches and 2 tabs. By rotating and aligning the tabs, you get a number of different options for positioning, including the option you are looking for, no need to rewire.
