Hi -- My dad was the CFO for Lionel back in the day and I am pretty sure that I am in possession of the Captain Kangaroo train set.  We are trying to authenticate it and also to start the restoration process.  Anyone that has photos or can point me to them would be appreciated.

Thanks so much -- Marcia

Hello Marcia,

Maybe I can help.  I was a big fan of Captain Kangaroo and tried never to miss an episode when he had the trains on.  I used to make a list of the dealer display used and the trains that were on the display.  I may still have those notes with my dealer advanced catalogs.  Wish me luck.  I'm still trying to find some information for another forum member about a company called Right of Way (nothing to do with the Captain).

Also please contact me off list, my email is with my info on this forum.  The reason is that I contributed to two articles about Captain Kangaroo in Classic Toy Trains magazine.  I cannot post them here because they are copyright of that magazine and that causes headaches for our Forum Moderator.  I can send them directly to you.

Regards,
