There are no chips to build the cab 2. There will be no chips in the foreseeable future. The decision to go back to the previous remote was one that permits Lionel to still sell their system in light of materials shortages. I’m certain that a new remote that is fully compatible to the base three with a smaller charging base will be offered as soon as the materials become available.
