Changing trucks on a tender.

I have a 2466 tender and its missing wheels and the coil coupler. I dont really want to use anything with the dragging shoe or coil.

I was wondering if anyone here has installed later trucks such as the operating knuckle couplers 1950s or later. Is it difficult to do?
